Story:
This is a story of a happy go lucky guy called Santosh (Varun Sandesh) who is an eternal dreamer in search of his dream girl. Pooja (Vega) is a NRI from UK who comes to Vizag to meet her uncle and aunt and Varun happens to receive her at the railway station. He falls in love with her at the first sight, but Pooja does not believe in love, so Santosh keeps the relationship between the two as friendship. He keeps insisting that his love is really for his dream girl. One day on Pooja’s insistence he shows a girl to her stating that she is his dream lover. From here Pooja takes it upon herself to ensure that Priya (Sharanya Mohan) and Santosh come closer and eventually get married. The rest of the story deals with Santosh’s confused love for Priya and Pooja’s realization that her friendship for Santosh is really love. The film has an unusual ending. One could see the movie and only then enjoy the justification given by the director.
Crew and Cast:
In a picture which is primarily a love story, the music and lyrics play a major role, but those departments have been major letdowns.Despite having names like Mani Sharma for music and Seeta Rama Sashtri for lyrics there is not a single tune which remains in memory. The direction is confused,, if the first half is a drag, the second half is a bore. The director did so many things in the second half that the situations look concocted and out of place. Dear Priya Saran needs to go to school to learn direction. The heroine Vega is pathetic to say the least. There is no acting in her, and looks wise too she is not heroine-material. Sharanya Mohan is wasted in a in a minuscule role. She is introduced in the second half of the film. Ravi Shankar tries his hand at villainy and he looks over sized and underutilized. The only saving grace seems to be Varun Sandesh who keeps trying and trying to save the film. And do we need to say more he fails miserably.
Analysis:
The second half of the film is a giveaway and the film’s production values were bad. The twists and turns in the film taking the audience for granted seem silly and manufactured. Comedy with M S Narayana is weak. Ali’s role with the revenge theme was routine and on expected lines.
Not even recommended for Varun Sandesh fans, the rest can take rest at home.
