Story
A dull tale, the story is about Komaram Puli (pawan) a tough and honest cop who is a terror to injustice and keeps wrongdoers at bay. His life takes a turn when he decides to take up the case of a missing police officer and this leads him straight to Saleem (manoj), the powerful and vicious don. An argument happens and it becomes a conflict between the two. While Puli is trying to nail Saleem with evidence, the latter tries his best to tame Puli. Who wins in the end and how that happens forms the rest of the story.
Crew and cast
The director has come up with a precitable storyline and though the presentation was average, the narration was a major letdown. The dialogues were good at places, the script was weak and the screenplay was horrible. Background score was alright but the songs were not upto the mark. Cinematography could have been better at many places. Editing was sloppy. Costumes were average and the art department was quite good. Pawan Kalyan gave a regular performance but this time, he had too much lecturing to do. Nikesha Patel looks gorgeous and sexy, she was the saving grace. Manoj Bajpai was not given a role worth his caliber. Nasser was good, Saranya was decent, Charanraj was convincing, Ali was not upto the mark, Shriya gave full feast, the others didn’t have much to offer.
Analysis
The film opens to an interesting formula line but in no time, the excitement falls. Especially the introduction scene of Pawan Kalyan was terrible with inferior graphics and patchy editing. Same goes with the introduction of the heroine as well. The second half shows some promise but not before it gets dragged into a bit of melodrama and unwanted silly comedy. Overall, the film doesn’t work in terms of content or presentation, the real culprit is the director and perhaps the delay also has taken its toll on the outcome.
Cinemadhuri verdict: Absolutely disappointing!!! |
